Both discs are housed inside a wonderfully painted steelbook that features new artwork of Coraline escaping the alternate dark universe with all of the scary characters. There are no problems with aliasing, banding, or heavy noise, leaving this new 4K transfer the best this film has ever looked.

They delivered a stop motion masterpiece of an experience that also successfully utilized the fad new wave of 3D technology sweeping through theaters. Henry Selick made a big name for himself when he released Nightmare Before Christmaswith Tim Burton, cementing his name into the dark stop-motion animated realm of children's stories. The biggest omission from this release is the 3D version of the film, in both its anaglyphic and polarized forms. Inside the new house, colors are more neutral, but once in an alternate reality, colors are just slightly more intense and frightening.

Another big factor is that the minimal banding that was present in the night sky on the Blu-ray is completely eradicated and this looks as good as I could possibly hope for. The new 2160p UHD image is dazzling and the new Dolby Atmos audio track is completely immersive and wonderful.Rear channels always have something to provide whether it be ambiance, unique sounds or tracking something off screen.
