About this deal

The animation was enjoyable for 2D and i love the realistic and more expansive backgrounds which is a really nice mix. Doctor Who – The Abominable Snowmen DVD in very good condition in a SILVER CASE, the clear case has been replaced so it matched the rest of your collection. Most of the original 1967 master recordings of the six-part adventure 'The Abominable Snowmen' were lost soon after the programme's original transmission. The audio soundtracks of the others survive too thanks to the dedication of fans who made home recordings.

As ever, director Chris Chapman keeps the documentary focused on the people who made Doctor Who, rather than fans or simple facts, resulting in a warm, emotional film that takes Frazer Hines and presenter Toby Hadoke back to Snowdonia, where Snowmen was filmed. He lives in Ireland with a wife who's remarkably understanding of being dragged across to the UK to take photos of him outside police boxes and a son who was plonked down in front of "Rose" at eight months old and hasn't looked back since. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Russell Minton, Executive Producer of The Abominable Snowmen, spoke about the project, saying, “We’re delighted to announce Doctor Who: The Abominable Snowmen, something Doctor Who fans have been waiting patiently for over the years. One of the big surprises of revisiting Troughton’s time on Doctor Who is the way the show could slide into pantomime, particularly in some of the performances of the supporting cast, and there’s no doubt that the scenes that I found terrifying as a child now have a “look-out-behind-you” quality that comes with the series surfing the camp zeitgeist of the 1960s.

However, audio-only recordings of all the episodes have survived and have been used here to create six brand new fully animated presentations of this lost classic, alongside the one surviving segment, Episode Two. It’s brief but lovely stuff, capturing the spritely cast including Patrick Troughton, who looks dashing without his clownish wig and costume. I do wonder, however, if the animation producers also saved money, by not having to pay for recreating the original performers’ features? Starring Patrick Troughton, Deborah Watling, Frazer Hines, Wolfe Morris, Norman Jones and Jack Watling. The Abominable Snowmen will be released in 2022 on DVD, Blu-ray and as an exclusive Steelbook next year, filling another gap in missing Doctor Who episodes. JNT: Is it fact that the second story, The Web of Fear, came so quickly after the first because of their (the Yeti’s) sheer popularity?

I laughed when the Doctor explained to his companions that they will receive a warm welcome at the monastery, only to find the reverse is true when he actually gets there. It is a little clunky in places – though this is to be expected given the limited time and budget available for such a niche release.

However, audio-only recordings of all the episodes have survived and have been used here to create six brand new fully animated presentations of this lost classic, as well as the surviving segment, Episode Two. Jamie and Victoria meanwhile discover the true culprits –the previously peaceful Yeti that live in seclusion on the mountainside have apparently turned violent.
