About this deal

It doesn't work well at all on wet salt beaches so if you hunt there you got to stay on the dry and turn it down to 2 notches or so. However, the Ace 250 makes many of their top-of-the-line features affordable, and that keeps people in the hobby/sport. I hunted an afternoon without using any headsets, and I could easily hear the audio and distinguish the soft signals from the loud double beeps.

If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag.

An issue I noticed was that it’s not a friendly detector – it does not like the company of other detectors! Please remember to careful when you’ll use it on the beach because only the coil is waterproof while the control panel isn’t. For a metal detectorist with over 20 years of experience, the ACE 400 is an excellent machine for coin and jewelry hunting!

The Garrett Ace 250 is a popular metal detector that is widely recognized for its user-friendly design and effectiveness for both beginners and intermediate users. It’s intuitive and even though the instructions are excellent they’re really not needed at this early stage. My guess would be that the motion discriminate mode has an audio boost employed to ensure that those deep signals are heard and not missed when hunting.

For instance, with the ACE 250 I needed VDI/TargetID, more accurate discrimination, ground balance and an 11-inch DD coil. Other features: 3-piece travel/storage, disassembles to 24"; adjustable arm cuff; quarter-inch (1/4") size headphone jack. All five modes are right there to see, and with just a couple of presses the desired discrimination settings were immediately available. Above these is the cursor that appears when a detected object identifies itself by pointing the cursor to a target above the LCD screen, from Iron through Silver Dollar. Garrett Ace 250 has been released in the distant 2005… Why Garrett Ace 250 is still considered as one of the best metal detectors even after almost 15 years?

And what made Galina's collection of finds exclusive was that all of them originated in the same historical time period and culture! The buttons are clearly labelled Power, Discrimination, Mode, Sensitivity, Pinpoint, and Elimination (elim). It’s great to have choice over the machine and the sensitivity is an important feature, but I’d say it’s for when you’ve got more experience. I knew I was getting closer than others were when coins turned up close to swing poles, while the rest of the playground had been cleaned out.If you still have some trouble, please check out the «Promotions» and «Spam» folders or contact us on the contact page.

The front of the screen now has a large digital target ID, using numbers plus target probability numbers suggesting ferrous/non ferrous conductivity. The Ace 250 has an advanced LCD graphic screen showing a graphic target ID cursor with 12 element notch discrimination for much greater accuracy. By the way, you will want to get a good set of headphones for this detector, as there is no volume control. While sweeping the coil across the ground, raise the sensitivity until falsing signals are heard, and then back it down until the detector becomes stable. It doesn't get much easier, and as you gain experience the controls can be adjusted to your own wishes. Make sure the batteries seat well on the springs-I sometimes just take my fingers and roll across all 4 while pressing down slightly. However, I did not like Fisher F2… The discrimination really average, VDI which is no much boasted on by Fisher F2 functions inadequately, and the coil itself is poor (worse than in Garrett ACE 250).
