About this deal

As well as for video, the S5 IIX is perfect for delivering professional photo performance. High-speed burst shooting at up to 9fps with the mechanical shutter and 30fps with the electronic shutter will let you capture fast-moving objects in crystal-clear clarity. For maximum image quality, a 96-megapixel High-Resolution Mode takes photos in JPEG and RAW files, whilst the Dual Native ISO sensitivity minimises noise and allows a maximum ISO of 51200 and 204800 when extended. Reliable and Versatile To withstand heavy field use, the LUMIX S5II and S5IIX are composed of a magnesium alloy full die-cast front / rear frame and is splash-resistant 12 and dust-resistant. The S5IIX, on the other hand, can record in ALL-Intra at up to Cinema 4K resolution 60fps, which has a bitrate of 800Mbps. And if that's not high quality enough, you can jump up to ProRes 422 HQ at 5.8K 30fps, which has a whopping 1.9Gbps bitrate. Lumix S5 IIX: 6K ‘open gate’ up to 30p, 5.9K up to 30p, C4K/4K 10-bit 4:2:2 internal up to 60p (APS-C/Super35 crop)

And of course we have also high res and fast sensors and they are much expensive, but also provide high speed el shutter modes not possible with older gen/cheaper sensors. https://www.slashcam.de/images/texte/1987-Vergleich-Vergleich_Dynamik.jpg, native lenses corrected for focus breathing without crop utility, stabilization without crop and utility, anamorphic, rolling shutter, ergonomics etc). So now I could say that the A7IV was years behind the S5I, which appeared in 2020? Or are you limiting everything to the Af, which Pana has now improved, also added other things (6k Open Gate, Realtime Lut, Active I.S., video recording (ex 6k) without temperature issues, better body due to full magnesium frame, etc.)?

If I want 4k 60p/120p without crop, that's currently not possible with Panasonic, if I want run & gun or scenic without annoying gimbal, I don't want Sony and so on. The phase hybrid autofocus works superbly, even when subjected to some pretty low-light conditions. It's worth noting, though, that in high frame rate slow motion modes, the camera switches to contrast-based autofocus, just as it does on the S5II. The IBIS is excellent in both photo and video modes, too, but we already knew that. Now its the other way round: my lenses are more capaple than my sensors, especially Sigma 105/2.8, my iSeries primes, also the 28-70/2.8.

S5IIX Panasonic Announces Highly Anticipated LUMIX S5II and S5IIX

This is something that I'd personally like to see more of. If you were to take an S1 with launch firmware and compare it to one today, A LOT of things about the experience are different and much improved. Cameras (and Panasonic ones especially) get so many great firmware updates after launch these days that it's just not fair to have a day one review that never gets updated. With a new imaging engine developed within the L 2 Technology partnership formed by LEICA and LUMIX, and a new 24-megapixel sensor, the LUMIX S5II and S5IIX are the first LUMIX cameras to offer Hybrid Phase Detection Auto-Focus (PDAF). Well written, with just a tad much emphasis on the video side of things (though it is a hybrid), at least to my liking. Panasonic hasn’t made any changes to the screen on the Lumix S5IIX in companion with the S5 or S5II, it has a 3-inch 1,840,000-dot vari-angle touchscreen. The vari-angle joint enables the screen to be flipped out to the side of the camera and angled up or down, or rotated to face forwards for vlogging and presenting to the camera.Lumix S5 II: 6K ‘open gate’ up to 30p, 5.9K up to 30p, C4K/4K 10-bit 4:2:2 internal up to 60p (APS-C/Super35 crop)

Panasonic introduces LUMIX S5IIX and LUMIX S5II mirrorless

I always buy several 3rd-party batteries. These typically include a charger at minimal extra cost. And, those chargers often offer extra features like multiple slots, 120V, 12V, and USB-C inputs. The Panasonic Lumix S5II and Panasonic Lumix S5IIX were both announced at CES on 4th January 2023. The two cameras have a lot in common, but the S5IIX has a few extra features that may appeal to dedicated videographers. However, it’s not slated to go on sale until mid-May 2023 whereas the S5II went on sale in January 2023. With that in mind, we’re going to compare the key features of the two cameras and pull out their differences. The fact is that the camera was initially set to save power and after the viewfinder refresh rate was increased, the viewfinder impression improved a bit. However, this impression remained far behind the viewfinder experience of competitors like Sony, Canon, or Nikon. Until the burst shooting speed slows. When recording is performed under the test conditions specified by Panasonic. The cards that can be used for recording vary depending on the motion pictures bit rate and format type.
