About this deal

The total word count of J.K. Rowling’s seven-book Harry Potter series is 1,084,625. That’s like reading David Foster Wallaces’s Infinite Jest (488,940) twice. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone The word count of Philip Pullman’s three-book His Dark Materials fantasy series is 390,575, about the length of reading J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Silmarillion (130,115) three times. The Golden Compass Nina, Nina, Nina. You just didn't really work for me therefore this was just an okay read. I didn't dislike you or anything but given the tough stuff you were dealing with in the book, I wish I would have felt more of a connection to you. Not only was she going to lose her father, she was going to lose the life she'd imagined for herself. The future she'd expected would be hers."

This is told in 3rd person from Nina's perspective. And for some reason this kept throwing me off. Since the entire story was purely from her perspective it almost felt like it should have been 1st person. This totally may be a just-me thing though! Santopolo's writing is captivating. Regardless of the story, her writing always keeps me invested. She just has a way of making her stories accessible yet gripping. It’s also fun to look at the word counts in the work of one author in particular, so I decided to do a little exploring and find out the word counts of some books by a beloved author, Stephen King, a prolific writer with millions of words among his many books. In this list, you can see that The Stand: Uncut is 471,485 words. His writing guide and memoir On Writing is 79,139, meaning The Stand holds approximately six (5.957) books of On Writing‘s length within it. On Writing is one of my favorite guides to writing. I’d gladly take more of those over another novel. (Though I’d of course take The Stand over any novel ever.) For more Stephen King book word counts, see this ver y detailed Reddit thread. CarrieAs always, there is some lovely, thought provoking writing. I especially enjoyed a chapter where Nina is visiting her father for their weekly " Jeapordy! and dinner" date... I felt Nina's angst as she is losing her father but her other decisions were met by little resistance, with the other characters being much more agreeable than I think they would be, in these situations, losing a bit of authenticity to me. Published in the 1950s and released in five volumes, this historical novel, originally written in Tamil, tells the story of Arulmozhivarman, one of the kings of the Chola Dynasty, which ruled in the 10th and 11th centuries. It took Krishnamurthy three years and six months to write - it would probably take us about the same time to read it (not withstanding having to learn a new language).

Now, none of these authors would win NaNoWriMo with their 40,000-word novel, but they’re obviously playing the long game. This list of 40,000-word novels should be subtitled: “How to write a book they’ll teach in high school English.” It’s like a who’s who of the English curriculum: Fitzgerald, Vonnegut, Hinton, Bradbury, hell, probably Nicholas Sparks… I mean, who knows? Clearly, even though we’re getting down to the end of this list of word counts of favorite novels, there are still heavy hitters in the lower range. Slaughterhouse-Five

7. Clarissa, or, the History of a Young Lady

Fourteen years constantly being vigilant will harden a man. Travis Archer has a tough time, however, when a female trespasser who has the exact same blue eyes as the courageous young girl he helped one. He just cannot bring himself to send her away. An act of sacrifice ends with her injured and her reputation in ruins, guilt and gratitude make him ride to rescue her again. Jill Santopolo sure knows how to tug at the heartstrings, much as she did in her last book, The Light We Lost. This is a well-written book with some serious steam, and it’s pretty compelling. It’s also poignant and emotional and a little predictable, too. Definitely had me hooked though!! More Than Words Can Say” is the second novel in the “Patchwork Family” series, which was released in the year 2019. Abby is railroaded by the city council. It means that she will need a man’s name to be on the deed to her bakery, and one that she can control. Not Zacharias, the stoic lumberman that seems to exude a silent confidence.

I had a difficult time drumming up the slightest bit of sympathy for this novel's main character, Nina Gregory. Must be terrible having two men in love with you. My heart bleeds. Extensive research has shown that when parents interact with their child in specific ways that motivate, encourage and support communication, they can make a significant difference to their child's social and communication development. Evidence Based and developed by expert Speech and Language Pathologists (please see the outline of research on the embedded PDF above) Extensive research has shown that when parents interact with their child in specific ways that motivate, encourage and support communication, they can make a significant difference to their child's social and communication development. Based on this research, the More Than Words® guidebook provides parents with simple strategies they can use during everyday routines and activities to help their child interact more meaningfully with others and experience less frustration.Everything remains light and superficial, there are no real stakes in the plot, and I have no interest in the characters at all. Actually, I was about to DNF this while I was going too far. Fortunately, Santopolo writes engrossingly. No matter the plot, she always manages to keep me interested in the story. She just has a talent for writing readable yet compelling stories. Nina Gregory is the main character which everyone will enjoy her personality, a smart and educated young woman struggling with different problems! Nina tries to keep her life in consistent after her father's loss and the problems she faces are so common in real life and I love the way that the Author has written within the book is really wonderful and intriguing!
